Small-group Tour to Magical Northeast Iceland
The Arctic Circle coastline of Northeast Iceland is spectacular, yet it has a surprisingly mild winter temperature. Stay in Húsavík, a friendly town surrounded by snow-tipped mountains in a picturesque fjord. Húsavík is known for its GeoSea seawater spa and its cosy charm. It’s a great base to explore Ásbyrgi Canyon, volcanic Lake Mývatn and more. You&#8217;ll be in an excellent area to view northern lights on a boat or bus tour. You can also enjoy excellent winter whale watching (October &#8211; November, March &#8211; April).

Discover the Edge of the Arctic

Got a group seeking winter outdoor adventure in an exotic wilderness setting? The remote, rainbow coloured Kerlingarfjöll mountains might be the perfect destination! Your group will head into Iceland’s untouched central highlands. They’ll stay at the luxurious Highland Base resort with comfortable rooms, delicious food, and wonderful geothermal baths. Kerlingarfjöll is an adventure seeker’s paradise perfect for snowmobiling, winter hiking, skiing (cross country/backcountry) – or simply relaxing and enjoying the spectacular scenery. At the end of the day, your group can soak in the geothermal pools and, with luck, glimpse the northern lights. This itinerary also includes the Golden Circle and the South Shore’s waterfalls and black sand beaches, all cloaked in winter’s glory.

Kerlingarfjöll Winter Highland Adventure

West Iceland, especially Snæfellsnes Peninsula, has become a favorite destination for groups. This tour combines West Iceland with the Golden Circle for a 
perfect winter overview of Iceland. Unique group experiences include visiting a geothermal greenhouse and meeting Viking horses. Your group will view world 
famous geysers and waterfalls and soak in an authentic geothermal spa. In the evenings there are opportunities for viewing northern lights.

This trip brings you to Iceland at the ideal time to discover the nation’s birdlife at its best, with a focus on the south and west coasts.  Enjoy opportunities to spot birds, along with visits to Iceland’s beloved natural wonders.
The majority (about two-thirds) of Iceland’s birds are seabirds and various species of wetland birds. Almost 80 bird species breed regularly in Iceland. Many of these birds only spend a few months in the country each year; others are permanent residents. In total around 30 species have been added to Iceland’s bird population during the last century. The vast majority of the species breed in neighbouring European countries, or around the Arctic region. Three species have entered Iceland from North America:  the Great Northern Diver (Common Loon), the Barrow’s Goldeneye, and the Harlequin Duck. Iceland is their only breeding location in Europe. Several migratory species stop-over in Iceland on their way between their breeding grounds north of the Arctic Circle and their wintering grounds further south on the planet.  These species include the Knot, sanderling, Turnstone, Brent Goose, White-fronted Goose, and Barnacle Goose. A total of around 380 species have been observed at least once in Iceland, most of them being migratory.
